Artist in Residence!
We are so excited to have worked with Mrs. F this week during our Artist in Residence! Next week, we will have an opportunity to complete our sessions and finalize our projects. Students had a close look at different textiles and patterns from around the world and learned about the Carpet Industry in India. Ask your student about the process of making carpets!
In our Artist in Residence, they are working on designing a carpet using canvas, acrylic paint, and fabrics. They looked specifically at planning designs, weaving, and 'weft and warp' - ask your student what those words mean!

We were thrilled to welcome Dino Petrakos - an Petroleum Geologist - into our learning community! With fascinating artifacts and samples, a slideshow and a wealth of knowledge, students learned about rocks, earthquakes, tectonic plates, mountain ranges and the creation of fossil fuels!
